Approval of GCF-ECRICC Restructuring Proposal Accelerates Climate Resilience Project in Maharashtra 10.07.2026
The Green Climate Fund (GCF) – Enhancing Climate Resilience of India's Coastal Communities (ECRICC) project has received a significant boost with the approval of its Restructuring Proposal. As per the official communication dated 10 July 2026 issued by the Office of the Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Mangrove Cell, Mumbai, the GCF Secretariat has approved the restructuring proposal, and the revised Adaptive Management Plan (AMP) is now operational. Following this approval, the project scope in Maharashtra has been expanded to include the additional landscapes of Alibag, Shrivardhan, and Ratnagiri. The concerned Divisional Forest Officers have been instructed to initiate immediate implementation of project activities in accordance with the approved restructuring proposal and revised AMP. The communication also emphasizes achieving the revised physical and financial targets within the stipulated timeframe, ensuring strict compliance with the Funded Activity Agreement (FAA), and submitting regular progress reports. This development marks an important milestone in strengthening climate resilience, restoring coastal ecosystems, and promoting sustainable livelihoods for coastal communities across Maharashtra.
